I think people should donate to ESAMarathon’s current event “ESA Legends”, because the money will go to the Make-A-Wish Foundation, which works to “create life-changing wishes for children with critical illnesses” (Make-A-Wish Foundation’s website, 2023).
ESA Legends is a speedrun event primarily based around Role Playing Games, like various Final Fantasy games, Shin Megami Tensei, and some cool indie titles known as “Romancing SaGa” and “Parasite Eve”.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation is a non-profit charity organization that was founded in 1981, after a child named Christopher Greicius, a 7-year-old boy battling leukemia had one wish before he passed away in 1980. “To be a police officer.” His community in Phoenix, Arizona got together and fulfilled his wish, which gave Linda Pauling and Tommy Austin the idea to make an organization that would give children battling terminal illnesses their wish.
In 1993 Make-A-Wish International was formed to server in countries outside of the U.S., and this is the branch ESA Legends is supporting with this event.
